ITS CLUB INFORMATION NIGHT!!!
Club Information Night
The club held a very successful club information night at the Aura Leisure Centre on Monday night. With over 100 people in attendance the audience were treated to a wealth of information by a host of guest speakers. Chairman Liam Tinney welcomed the eager audience before introducing Triathlon Ireland’s Coach and Development officer Michael Black. The crowd then was divided into groups and each group had 15minute presentations with each guest speaker. Matthew McKinley discussed and demonstrated bike maintenance tips, Danny Mooney discussed lactate testing, Aidan Callaghan talked about the importance of recovery in training, Gavin Crawford discussed club training and training to HR while Niamh McDaid discussed all things nutrition. Martin Donnelly was in attendance representing the Children’s committee. Elaine Gallagher, our merchandising officer, was also in attendance showcasing club gear. Pat Brady was on hand with tea, coffee and biscuits for everyone.
There was a draw on the night for some prizes. The lucky winners were:
Letterkenny Try a Tri/Supersprint: Francis Friel
Liam Ball Sprint Triathlon: Lynnette Rodgers
Omagh Sprint Triathlon: Damien O’Donaill
A great night was had and it was great to see so many non-club members attend. We hope you all got a great insight into the world of triathlon.
Thank you to Matthew, Danny, Aidan, Gavin and Niamh and to everyone who helped organise the night in anyway.
