Crooked Lake Triathlon
24/7 had a very successful day at Camlough on Saturday at the Crooked Lake Triathlon. Aidan Callaghan, returning to great form, was winner in a superb time of 58:05. Aidan finished just 26seconds ahead of 2nd place in a very tightly fought race. Bronagh O’Gara also podiumed on the day picking up the prize for 3rd Female in a fantastic time of 1:14:43. Fin Begley also had a good race finishing strongly in 1:17:54.

 Mourne Way Marathon
Colin Dean competed in the Mourne Way Marathon at the weekend. In a savage off-road course that included 3500ft of climbing Colin had a superb finish time of 3:54 ,5th (4th Male) overall.

Crana Swim Series Round 3
The final swim of the Crana Swim Series took place on Saturday afternoon at Ludden, Buncrana. Jonathan Martin was the winner of the 1.6k event. Anne Robinson was 2nd female overall in the swim series wetsuit category. There was some fantastic swimming by 24/7 members over the course of the swim series. Full results will be posted when available.

 Athletics success
More success for Junior Ben Carr- Ben was the Junior Men’s 1500m Ulster winner at the weekend.

5k Roundup
24/7 had super performances at Thursday’s Ballyraine NS 5k on Thursday. Michael Black was 1st place in a winning time of 16:28. Natasha Kelly was 1st Female in a brilliant 19:17. Mark Rodgers had a super race finishing in 20:02 with Keith Fletcher winning 1st place M50 for his time of 20:03. Niamh McDaid was 2nd FO in 21:20 and Catherine McKinley, teacher at Ballyraine NS, 3rd FO in a time of 21:25.

Well done to Colm Corcoran (and Cian!), 23:24, Terence Quinn, 25:14, and Georgina Dill, 27:30, who all competed in the Donegal Aurivo Killygordan 5k

Bike2BBQ Fun Event
A big thank you to everyone who attended Monday night’s Bike2BBQ event in association with National Bike week, Donegal Sports Partnership and Donegal County Council.

Thanks to everyone who helped in anyway and to Pat and Amanda at The Kitchen for providing another great BBQ. A special thanks to Conor Foley, Gavin Mc Menamin, Mac Walsh, Donagh Kelly, Rory Kennedy, Ben Walsh, Paul Garry and Laura Mc Menamin, our rally representatives who kindly took some time out of their preparations for the Donegal Rally this weekend. An excellent collaboration to highlight the importance of road safety for everyone on our roads.  The kids had a ball!

Members Summer Swim Series 2018
This Monday 18th June will be the first of the Summer Swim series races at Gartan. Strat time is 6.30pm sharp. A 400m, 750m and 1500m swim option will be available to all.  This series is open to 24/7 members only.

All dates for Swim Series are: 18th June, 2nd July, 30th July, 20th August.

A full list of swim series rules will be sent to all club members by email later today.

Swimming at Downings
For anyone that is swimming at Downings- there is NO swim entry at the pier. You must enter the water by the beach only. There are buoys out and the pier area is a no swimming zone.

Gartan Open Water Swimming
Gartan open water swimming sessions take place each Monday @ 6.30pm.  All members are reminded that swimming in the lake on a Monday night is from 6.30pm and you must exit the water no later than  All members must sign in and out of the water.  This year there will be a designated swim course set up by Gartan Outdoor and this will be the only area members will be allowed to swim in.  We will have kayak cover in the water and a marshal on the shore.  Wetsuits, and bright swim caps are COMPULSARY and anyone who is not a confident swimmer is urged to use a swim buoy.


Club Training

Club training continues as follows:

Monday: Open Water swim sessions Gartan @ 6.30pm

Tuesday:  Road based session 6.30pm from Aura

Wednesday: Swim session- Beginners 7-8pm, All others 8-9pm

Thursday:  There will be NO TT session this week due to the Donegal Rally

Saturday: No Club cycle this Saturday due to the Donegal Rally

Saturday:  Due to decreasing numbers Sat swim sessions have been cancelled for the Summer months. We hope to resume the session in early September
