Ironman 70.3. Competitors enjoyed a swim which took place in the Chasewater reservoir and a 56mile bike course through the stunning West Midlands followed by a half marathon through the historic Shugborough country estate. Graham had a super swim and bike leg and despite temperatures reaching a blistering 35 degrees during the half marathon Graham finished the event in a very credible 6:37:42.

Causeway Coastal Triathlon
Alastair Hetherington chose triathlon over his other love of rallying at the weekend and travelled to Portrush on Saturday to take on the Causeway Coastal Triathlon. Just one week after his sprint distance debut Alastair opted for the Olympic distance in preparation for Dublin 70.3 in August. Alastair completed the tough course in 2:58:34.

Ita’s husband Martin wasn’t too far behind, after a strong swim finishing in a time of 1:25:47. Louise Alcorn showed her warm weather training has certainly paid off- winning the F45-49 category-Louise performing well on the bike as always. Labhaoise Maguire was 3rd in the F45-49 category in a time of 1:32:08. Special mention to Elaine Gallagher on completing her first sprint distance triathlon.
