Club Time Trial League
The club held eleven Time trials during the Summer. Club members took turns to time each event and pass on the results to the event coordinator. The ten mile cycle started and finished at Foxhall which was a true test of cycling ability as the hill that we sped down, past the GAA pitch had to be negotiated on the way home. Twenty four minutes is the holy grail and our top cyclists came close so the benchmark has been set for 2017. The winner each week received ten points with nine for second etc.
Siobhan Gallagher has the best time for the women having a best time of 26.10 in 2016. Margaret Kelly won the league overall with a score of 47 points. Fin Begley was second with 44 points and Natasha Kelly was third with 40points. There were some dramatic improvements as the season progressed. Martina Mc Daid finished with a best time of 31.42 down from 35.56. Fiona Mc Daid improved from 36.12 to 30.36. Natasha Kelly progressed from 38.45 to 33.01 and Niamh Gibbons from 40.22 to 35.04
Martin Donnelly led the way home on the men’s side with 53 points followed by Cathal Roarty on 46points and Paul Dillon on 34 points. The best time for 2016 was achievedby Aidan Callaghan with a time of 24.01 followed closely by Eugene Mc gettigan and Peter ODonnell. Pat Brady made the best improvement reducing his time from 30.08 to 27.26 and Lester Speer also showed great form improving from 30.59 to 28.29

All times and points will be up on the notice board and thanks to Anne Robinson and Liam Tinney for their help in pulling the results together. All queries about distances and times can be directed to Liam. The events are all dependent on club volunteers so thanks to everyone who turned up when asked.
