Gartan Sprint Triathlon 2023
The Gartan Sprint Triathlon is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the summer, organised by the Letterkenny 247 triathlon club. This event is set to take place on the 29th of July, starting at 10 am, promising a thrilling experience for all participants.
The entry fee for this event is €50, and entries will open on the 20th of March. This triathlon is open to juniors (16+) and will provide a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all participants.
The Gartan Sprint Triathlon will cover a total distance of 23km, and it will include a 750m swim in the beautiful Gartan lake, an 18km bike ride along undulating roads on the main Letterkenny road from Churchill, and then back to Gartan, finishing with a 5k run along the lake. The race will be fully marshalled at each section, ensuring the safety of all participants.
This event is sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland and will be chipped race using Core Timing. This means that participants will receive an accurate timing record for their performance during the event. In addition, a 1-day license is required if you do not have full Triathlon Ireland membership.
Participants will receive a swim hat, t-shirt, and medal upon completion of the race. After the event, refreshments will be served to all participants, giving them a chance to unwind and socialise with other athletes.
For those who prefer to participate as a team, there is a relay option available. Get your friends and family involved and participate as a team of three, with each person taking part in one discipline each.
