Timeline for Sheephaven Half & Sprint

The provisional times for this years Sheephaven races have been announced. Note that the race brief will take place online on the Wednesday night.  A link for this will be emailed out prior to the briefing directly to competitors.  Keep an eye on your inbox (& spam folder) over the next few days.

The club are looking for volunteers to help marshals at the events on June 29th. If you are available to volunteer for any part of the race on June 29th in any capacity please contact Gavin Crawford or Liam Tinney.

Transfer window for both races will close on Friday 21st June. If anyone is looking to transfer they arrange themselves. It’s done via the TI registration system.

Races

Metalman Swim

Kathryn Mc Brearty completed the Metalman 2km Swim on Saturday 8th June in a time of 42min14sec. There was a change of location from Rosses Point to a more sheltered Mullaghmore Bay.

Sprint Tri National Championships

Sprint Tri National Championships took place at Crooked Lake in Camlough. 3 members represented the club.

Mark Mc Ginley came third in his age group, Peter O Donnell 7th in his age group and Barry Mc Eleney 8th in his age group. Well done lads!

Mizen To Malin Fundraiser

Well done to Fin Begley and Sharon Ward on completing a Mizen To Malin Cycle Fundraiser in a time of 36hours 30 mins 29 secs.

Club First Aid Training

For those interested there will be First Aid & Defib course on the evening of June 20th in Letterkenny. Please contact Gavin Crawford to book a place on it.

Club training 

Club Training for Week of 17th June Early update. There will be no TT  on Thursday 20th, no club cycle Saturday 22nd or running Sunday 23rd because of the Donegal Rally.

Club training for the week ahead

Monday 10th of June

Gartan open water swimming 🏊in the water for 630 sharp.(Coached)

Tuesday run🏃🏽 session, meeting point down beside the pool slides where the trytri transition was same as last week  warm-up leaving 630pm (Coached)

Wednesday swimming🏊7pm till 8 (one x Coach) 4 lanes only…Bring handpaddles pullbuoy and fins

Thursday TT🚴 first bike away 6.45pm sharp out at foxhalls…. Anyone free to do the timing again can you post here please.

Fridays recommend rest day swimming or strength.

Saturday biking both groups leaving the aura 8am.
On Fridays group leaders will post up course details etc.

Sunday long run 12/16k steady.

Club training continues weekly and it’s great to see increased numbers at swimming and Saturdays spins. The new payment system for swimming is working well. Club members are reminded to make sure to pay as a guest and that their name is typed in also so we know it’s you ! Payment link gets issued every Wednesday in the clubs what’s app.
