Try a Tri and Super Sprint 2024

The Letterkenny 247 Triathlon club hosted the annual Try a Tri and Super Sprint event at the Aura Leisure Centre on Sunday morning. 141 participants showcased their endurance and skill in the races.

Supported by an enthusiastic team of dedicated volunteers, the competitors embraced the perfect weather conditions and delivered outstanding performances. The Try a Tri participants swam 200m, cycled 13km, and ran 3k, while the Super Sprint contenders swam 400m, completing the same distances on the bike and in the run.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Aura leisure centre, the proud sponsors of this annual event. Club chairman, Gavin Crawford,  took a moment to express his appreciation to the Aura staff, the event directors, Triathlon Ireland officials, Core Timing staff and the invaluable volunteers who generously contributed their time and efforts to ensure the event’s success.

Congratulations to the winners of the Try a Tri, who achieved remarkable times in their respective categories. Similarly, the fastest participants in the Super Sprint showcased exceptional speed.

The Letterkenny 247 Triathlon club takes pride in organising an event that not only attracts seasoned triathletes but also serves as a gateway for individuals from diverse sports backgrounds and those embarking on their fitness journey. It is inspiring to see many first-time racers already committed to participating in our upcoming club event, the inaugural Sheephaven Sprint planned for later this summer at Downing’s.

We look forward to witnessing more thrilling displays of athleticism and camaraderie at future events.
Thank you for being a part of this incredible triathlon community!
