Club Activities

Club members have been competing very well in various races over the last few weeks.

Lost Sheep Middle Distance National Championships 2024

Mark, Aidan, Peter and Hugh put in impressive efforts at the national champs at Lost Sheep over the weekend. Mark Mc Ginley was 4th overall, 1st in age group, Aidan was 9th overall, 3rd in age group, Peter was 10th overall, 1st in age group and Hugh was 95th overall and 18th in age group. Four athletes that consistently place on the podium and/or age groups but never flaunt their accomplishments. Admirable sportsmanship!

MSC Triathlon Mullaghmore 24

5 club members competed in MSC Triathlon Mullaghmore. A choppy start to the swim, scenic bike course with 2 laps of Mullaghmore head, and finished with a out and back run route. Brian Gormley and Kathyrn Mc Brearty lead the club home.

Carlingford Olympic National Series Tri 2024

Barry Mc Eleny finished in a time of 2:11:08. 24th Overall and 7th in his age group at Carlingford.

Post To Post Adventure 2024

Well done to Paula Hegarty who finished 2nd overall female in the 33km Post2Post in a time of 1:35:39

Susi and Sam Bogan also enjoyed the sun in Downing’s. Both competed in the longer 50km race and finished in 2:36:00

Inch Mile

A few club members enjoyed the glorious sunshine and took part in the Inch Mile at Rathmullan. No reports from anyone but the sunshine pics looked great 🙂

Donegal Half Marathon

Race HQ was the Aura Leisure Centre for Donegal Half Marathon 2024. Well done to those that endured the rain and more rain !

Half Monte

Barry Foley raced the inaugural Half Monte adventure race in Mountcharles. He finished in a time of 1:24:46 and placed 5th over all.

Monday
recommend rest day swimming or strength.

Tuesday –

Wednesday swimming🏊7pm till 8 (one x Coach) 4 lanes only…Bring handpaddles pullbuoy and fins.

Thursday –

Fridays recommend rest day, swimming or strength.

Saturday clubs cycle both groups leaving at 8am…..group leaders will post route and distances on Friday.

Sunday long run 12/16k steady.
