Sheephaven Half 2023, Another Great Day for 24/7!

Sheephaven half podium

Matthew Kinkaid took the honours in the Sheep Half for 2023! Saturday saw a great day of racing with our own club members joined on course from competitors that travelled from clubs as far away as Athlone, Galway, Dublin, and Harriet Henderson flew in from Scotland.

The weather varied from drizzly to Mediterranean-esque, thankfully the experienced 24/7 Marshalls were on hand to keep everything running along smoothly. The day went off seamlessly, a testament to the hard work and long hours put in by the organisers. Huge kudos and thanks to Liam Tinney, Adrian Wasson, Anne Robinson, Niamh McDaid, Mervyn McDowell, Patrick Patton, and Paul Doherty. Matthew Kinkaid of Newry TC (4:29:02) had almost eight minutes to spare over second placed Stephen Donnelly (4:37:22) The podium was completed by Sean McLaughlin (4:40:33) from NorthWest TC. Kerry McGrillen of Olympic TC was the first female home (5:39:06), just ahead of 24/7’s Harriet Henderson (5:44:43). Harriet lead for the entire race until 5km from the end, a super performance.
