Noel McManus 40km Cycle, Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge, Transition Training …

Noelle Parker travelled to Leitrim on Sunday morning for the Noel McManus Memorial Cycle and took on the 40km route. A regular at the 8.30am Saturday Club cycle, Noelle stormed along the route and took home the 2nd place female prize. Well done Noelle!

Easter Sunday Morning also saw the annual Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge, an unforgiving circuit that includes a run along the strand. Club members Colin Dean (1:17:42), Bronagh O’Gara (1:17:43), and Fin Begley (1:24:55) took on the ten-mile course. Paul O’Gara also did the 7-mile route on the day.

This week’s training schedule as follows:

Monday 4.30/4.45pm: Speed Session on the track at the Aura. Warm up at 4.30pm and on track for 4.45pm sharp.

Tuesday 7.45pm-8.45pm: Spinning/Turbo session at the Aura.

Wednesday 7pm-8pm: Lane swimming at the Aura. Online booking/paying available on https://letterkenny247.com/.

Thursday 6.30pm – long run from the Aura. Groups to be established before leaving based on aims, speeds, etc. Brick session/time trial is commencing on April 20th – more details next week.

Saturday: Two groups for club cycle 8am and 8.30am. 8am group will be 3hrs plus averaging from 26-28kph and faster if you think you’re able. Routes will be posted in advance. 8.30am group, route will be decided when everyone turns up so we can see numbers and abilities. Most recent cycle was 90mins average speed 20 to 24kph.

Sunday: Long run or long bike TBC. Transition training in the Aura car park from 10-11am.
